Quicken Deluxe 2006 Personal Finance Software Description:
Quicken Deluxe 2006 Personal Finance Software review:5 stars (Quicken Deluxe 2006) - It serves my needs and is a quality product like the previous editions.3 stars (Dangerous in Windows XP) - First, let me say that I like Quicken so much that I usually spend the money for each upgrade - DUMB, but it keeps me happy. I mean, fighting for rebates, like surviving Katrina, is a thrill in itself.
However, you should know that you can not access Quicken 2006, unless you are logged on in an "XP" administrator account. Now, Microsoft tells us to not go on the internet as an administrator, but Quicken tells us we have to, if we want to download financial information, or use any of it's on-line functions - DUMB, REALLY DUMB. I use several different databases (training other family members to use Quicken, for their personal accounts - Love that Quicken, remember?), so I have to let anyone & everyone use the computer as an administrator, and access the internet while they do it - DUMB, REALLY, REALLY DUMB. Just think, my twenty-something sons can work on their databases, on the internet, while they visit all the reputable sites that twenty-somethings lilke to visit. Intuit may not see the threat in that, but Microsoft and I do!
That's it! Another Microsoft plot. Trigger negative responses to Quicken, so we will buy MS Money. How SMART. 5 stars (Kris from Boulder Colorado) - 1-No way are you as intelligent as you thik you are 2-Does your financial institution require CAPS on logon...most do...or they will change them to caps once you hit enter. Try your logon info in CAPS...it works really.. Im running Quicken 2006 on XP as I type to you..with full updates
